Haiti Relief

What can you do to help? First, pray for the people of Haiti and for the relief efforts. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is already on site to provide assistance, and will continue in the future weeks, months, and even years.

Second, donations can be made for relief efforts through UMCOR. Checks can be made payable to TUMC, with “Haiti Emergency” noted in the memo line, or cash may be place in an offering envelope with “Haiti Emergency” written on the front of the envelope. Gifts may be placed in the regular Sunday offering, and 100% of your gift will go to direct aid in Haiti.

Third, we can gather and assemble health kits which will be shipped to Haiti. Bring any of the items listed below to church through Sunday, February 7. We will dedicate these gifts that day in worship, and they will be taken to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, IL later that week.

Thank you for your concern and compassion in reaching out to the people of the poorest country in the Western hemisphere

Women’s Prayer Breakfast
On the first Thursday of every month join us for a Women's Prayer Breakfast. This is a time any woman who is seeking a deeper relationship with God through prayer to come at 7:00 a.m. for a light breakfast, followed by a speaker who shares her experience of prayer. Afterward closing in prayer, the group tries to be ready to head out by 7:50 a.m. No reservations are needed. Come and bring a friend. This ministry is open to people from any church, or from no church at all! The dates for 2010 are February 4, March 4, April 1, May 6

Men’s Bible Study to Resume
Beginning January 6 at 8am and every other Wednesday following in the conference room, this group of men digs into the scriptures to grow as faithful, fruitful disciples of Jesus Christ. There's always room for one more, so bring a friend and your Bible and come expecting to grow! Questions? Contact Kip Mecum at 253-9259.

Prayer Walks
Please meet at the church, and we will walk through a section of Tuscola, praying for the people we see, for the needs of the people we may not see, and asking God to reveal what we need to see. After  walking for half an hour, we’ll return to the church for some reflection time.
